What is a process — and is yours holding?

A process turns an input into an outcome through steps, decisions, handoffs, an owner, and a way to measure it. In a few minutes you'll map one process and see where it's solid and where it's shaky.

The honest part first: documented isn't the same as followed, which isn't the same as measured, which isn't the same as improved. This check looks at all four — for one process you choose.

  • This tool is a Celvius synthesis, inspired by ideas from ISO/IEC 33020, CMMI, APQC's Process Classification Framework, and OMG's BPMM. It is NOT an official derivative, benchmark, certification, appraisal, compliance assessment, or audit, and implies no affiliation with or endorsement by those bodies.
